My story

These are random thoughts as I became familiar with my vision site.

"The candle is burning on the alter, created from mom's quilt(shroud) that I had made from T-shirts that mom bought on her travels, the area is smudged along with myself and the tent. THE STAGE IS SET~~.. and so the candle just blew out!"

First, the Vision Inipi for me was a deep inner release as the words and thoughts rang true and were spoken freely. If nothing else transpires "I am Changed!"

Got to the site and had the prayer of Jebez happening! I had allowed for far more vision site than I intended. This opened my site and my eyes to a rock alter and lots of areas with sun and green growth and room to walk the directions and a nice walk around my Prayers Ties. The wind came to my attention as my busywork came to a finish.

Drumming and singing the directions after a blessing for each flag and then walking the Prayer Tie circle with Sweetgrass.

Sitting and looking around my eyes caught something shiny and a saw a salamander at the base of the tree. Isat and watched until it went up into the bark..started to move to rock and noticed the pine needles moving and saw another salamander, plumper and not as shiny with an orange opaque cast to it. I brought myself closer to the ground on my hands and knees and followed along. It was moving very slow (cold?)

"Step Lightly & watch where you walk!" Thought!!

Sunlight is now dappling through the trees and spend some time just be aware..noticed that it was producing a shadow on my notebook, so lightly sketched it on the page~ wind is gently moving the trees. Far off in the distance..road noise.

Sitting on the rock gazing down upon the trees in the pinegrove below. Reminds me of "Through the dark woods" audio book Jim and I listened to about entering the dark woods of life.

Mind was getting to busy so picked up my drum and drummed my heart beat.

The third salamander came into view and some thought about the number 3 floated about. Sitting out on the rock I was slipping into sleep and brought myself to awareness to get off of the rock ~ danger, danger ~ fall off rock! I then tried sitting outside the tent to observe nature..still falling asleep?? Go lie down, what is stopping you?

WHEN THE DAY CEASES TO BE AND THE NIGHT SETTLES IN.. WHEN THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO "SEE" you have a vast amount of audio and visual sources within to reflect upon...

Dreams were quiet, inner thoughts at Peace!

Awakening to increase of daylight..Full nights sleep!! First in a couple of weeks. Woke to a sense of serenity...anticipated the Pipe Song which came with the bird calls. trees are quiet this morning and I heard Bob singing the pipesong along with community in the meadow. The nearness felt good. Dressed to sit out with the day, cold!!

Spirit of the East, Spirit of the East, Help the new dawn in me rising. Aho
Spirit of the South, Spirit of the South, Bring me healing and laughter. Aho
Spirit of the West, spirit of the West, bring me cleansing and insight Aho
Spirit of the North, Spirit of the North, bring me wisdom and purity Aho

In the north, steam rising off of the pond in the distance through the pinegrove
In the east, mountains and trees and sky
In the south, mushrooms, falldown tree parts and greenpatches on the ground.
In the west, a tangle of small trees and a rockcave and the sound of water

Morning thoughts and observations
I was commenting to myself about the absence of chipmunks, squirrels or other small animals.
It was like a silent call as a chipmunk came scurrying out with busywork on the hill below me and then a little bird hopping about. The color of the pineneedles and quite afew woodpeckers and bluejays were about. Also in distance movement on the pond and then the sun went behind the clouds.

Walked the directions, smudged, gave thanks and did morning prayer sequence that Jeff taught us back at the lodge.
